Update - The Distributist Review
Dear Friends of The Distributist Review,
For some time our readers have asked us when we would leave the shadows of Google Blogger and move on to greener pastures. What you are looking at is an image file of the site currently in development. Promising to pack a punch, the new Review will offer commentary on economics, politics, history, philosophy, and even book/movie reviews. A launch date will be announced soon and we hope all of you will continue to follow us and spread the word.

Wow, it looks gorgeous!
good stuff!! How do we help?
I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Will be very nice!
Richard, does wordpress have a gadget or widget for allowing video and audio comments?
I got a account there not long ago, I think you have to pay for it, other wise, reduced to posting a link only...even bravehost as dumped the youtube imbedding I used to have...
Hi John,
Do you mean in the comment boxes themselves? As in the ones we are typing in right now?
As far as embedding in posts, yes we certainly can. Unlike signing up for Wordpress.com, we are hosted somewhere else and our template is simply powered by Wordpress. We will be able to post videos in our articles, sidebar, etc.
richard,
take a look at this: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-viddler-wordpress-plugin/
We should be able to John. We can use any Wordpress plugin. The only issue may be bandwidth but someone who may know better can correct me on this.
I am going to keep a log of things like this and we can test them out after we launch.
What I would really like are "group conversations. Not exactly a podcast, but an on-line discussion at a set time perhaps once a week or so on a given topic. Video and audio, far more than mere text, would really build some community among our readers. Any way to do that?
Like an online chat? I'm sure that is possible, however this is beyond my capabilities. Perhaps there is a third party program which may be put into the coding but again, I am limited in my knowledge of website creation. Most of what I have learned should suffice to launch the site, and we can always improve it as we go along.
