STOP OFFSHORING AMERICAN JOBS!
This article has been making the rounds on the American alternative media. Written by Michael Mandel for the pro-globalist Business Week magazine, this article proves that taking well-paid jobs in America overseas does great damage to her economy.
Distributism believes in economic self-sufficiency for a nation, as much as it can. Part of sustaining such a policy is NOT sending good-paying jobs overseas.
Continue pressuring the Congress and your state representatives to end trade and economic policies that encourage offshoring jobs.

Why self-sufficiency for the nation only? Why not self-sufficiency for the state, county, or town, or home?
It seems to me that the smaller the area you try to establish such a self-sufficency, the more difficult it is, to absurdity. The long slow development of what children's textbooks call the "division of labor" is still occuring today, and the basic advantage to all that it contained then applies on any scale.
I heavily support stopping the offshoring of american jobs. Our gov. is on crack and doesn't realise that it means fewer tax dollars going into fed. state. local. and social taxes. I think is has alot to do with the big forclosure rate going on two. The people making the desition to offshore jobs are the other terrorists and should be treated that way. Lower cost for what consumers when everyones job will be gone? Keep going back to school is good, that gets discurraging when there are fewer jobs to go to and might get offshored as well. And that painter, how many customers is he going to have when other people don't have jobs do to do to OFFSHORING.

Exactly. See http://distributism.blogspot.com/2007/09/investors-dilemma.html
AS A RECENT COLLEGE GRAD I HAVE SPENT SEVERAL YEARS AND OVER 50K IN STUDENT LOANS TO GET EDUCATED ONLY TO FIND THE INDIANS IN MY CLASS ARE GOING TO THE SAME INTERVIEWS AT IBM AND NORTEL AND TAKING THE JOBS BACK TO THAT TOILET OF A COUNTY THEY CALL HOME... THIS SUCKS
TIM AT WAL MART.
I agree whole heartedly with this. Offshoring of American jobs puts less cash flow in American pockets. It's no wonder why all these retail chains are closing. Whose going to purchase from American retailers at the malls....Indians in India....Chinese in China...Filipinos in the Phillipines....WHO???? Government handouts will not solve this recession...putting Americans to work and protecting our jobs from offshoring will....
Just lost my job to offshore outsourcing - AGAIN. Where can some concrete studies/figures be found on the impact this has on the U.S. economy? The government certainly is not releasing any. I am sure it would be a difficult task. How many companies are going to be honest about the percentage of jobs they offshore. The government should tell us the amount of jobs lost, the impact that it has on federal and state lost tax dollars, as well as the amount lacking in our social security system. I read an article today from Associated Press that the big banks who received the most stimulus money ($150 BILLION) also requested visas for 20,000 foreign workers, 1/3 increase from previous year!! WHAT? With our money?? I'm no genius but I just can not see how you can stimulate the economy if people do not have jobs. I think we would all be astonished if we could get concrete figures. The only definite figure I have is that my unemployment income will be 50% of what it was for only 6 months.
I am strongly against offshoring American jobs and something needs to be done NOW! Because of this policy, many Americans financial futures are in jeopardy. Washington needs to support the American workers by keeping our jobs on our soil and not sending them to foreign countries. Our economy is failing because many of these American workers are earning close to minimum wage and are in financial hardship. This policy has to be changed so these citizens can find gainful employment in our country. It is not right that these jobs are sent overseas and then America does not receive any taxes from these foreign companies.
We need to continue to pressure our state representatives and Congress to STOP the fair trade policies that support offshoring our jobs.
I too am against offshoring...I worked at The Nielsen company and got laid off last year as I watched hundreds of Indians walking in with H1 visas to take over jobs that could be done by experienced American workers..the question is what do we do to be heard on this issue!!!
Completely disgusted!
What about all the taxes that are going away with the American jobs? I work for a medical transcription service. We are currently training Indian MTs to do our job for a fraction of what we earn. When they are trained sufficiently, we will be kicked to the curb. It is sickening. I am wondering though, why the Indian workers are content to be paid pauper's wages? I don't care about the cost of living differences, they are still getting paid nearly nothing to perform jobs that are worth much more. Doesn't say much for their self-esteem, does it?
From their POV (and your employer's), they are not getting paid nearly nothing to perform jobs that are worth much more, but they are getting paid the real value of that work and you're terribly overpaid.
Yes, cost of life matters. A lot. If I in India pay for things five times less than you and I'm paid four times less than you, I'm wealthier than you.
I think the offshoring has become ridiculous. As an American citizen, you are looking for a job and then an Indian recruiter named "John Walker" calls you from India and asks you "kindly" what your visa status is and then disappears after you send him your resume?! I just wonder, is the American government that blind not to realize that these Indians are taking jobs and money away from us like parasites? STOP OFFSHORING NOW UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE!!! Don't let America become an Indian region!
